Workday Overview

Workday Inc. is an instant human capital management and financial management online software stockist. They provide applications for Human Resources, finances and planning through their Cloud ERP System.

They were founded in 2005 by David Duffield who was the former CEO of the company PeopleSoft. Workday was launched in November of 2006. The headquarters are now located within Pleasanton, California and were priorly at Walnut Creek, California as of 2008.

Workday decided to within their agreements to purchase Cape Clear Software. Since Workday has been in the works, they have disclosed contracts with many other businesses, this includes Time Warner, Chiquita Brands, CAE Inc., Rentokil Initial, Fairchild Semiconductor, Thomson Reuters, and Aviva.

Services are sold through a subscription rather than selling the software all at once with a single purchase. Workdays prices are upfront and nothing to hide, they collect the payment and them as soon as a new client is signed onto the software.

The customer within this is locked within a multi-year agreement between them and Workday. In early 2016, this pays off and makes Workday revenue over 1 billion dollars for the first time ever within their corporation.

Medium size businesses and Fortune 50 companies are most likely to choose Workday as their service software. This doesn’t mean they can’t handle more, Workday claims to be designed to handle the biggest corporations out there, that also includes educational systems and government institutes.
