Johnson & Johnson was founded as a family business in New Brunswick, NJ in 1886 with only 14 employees. It has since blossomed into a multinational holding company, as well as one that is involved in research and development and the manufacturing of healthcare-related products.
Its three primary segments are medical devices, consumer and pharmaceutical. The three Johnson brothers Robert, James and Edward saw a need and knew they could fill it. The problem: physicians wanted to enhance and simplify hygiene while treating patients. The success was immediate, propelling the young company into stratospheric growth.
Today, J&J has nearly 130,000 employees in more than 250 locations. The company continues to recognize the need to give all employees especially interns opportunities to work on vital assignments. That’s why interns will stay busy; no one will be making copies or coffee. They will be an integral part of a creative, dynamic team, up to their elbows in real work.
Leaders will assign projects to interns to keep them busy and learning during their 12-week experience-of-a-lifetime. J&J is pursuing candidates who are hungry to make a measured impact on the world, solve problems and play an essential role in bringing new products from the drawing board to the market.
Students who will rise to the top of the selection list will demonstrate excellent presentation acumen, vibrant communication skills and strong leadership qualities. The individual should also be able to work well under pressure.
To be consider, applicants must be a college senior and enrolled in a 4-year degree and have a GPA of 3.0.
