Joe knew the keys of running a very great shop, and it was about working hard for its clients: give them the products they want, at a reasonable price, with lots of tender, loving care. Joe was innovative, too.

He had one of the very first in-store magazine racks from the country along with a scratch bakery and new ice cream produced in shop.

He worked seven days a week on his vision to construct his firm, and through his inspirational work ethic and tireless determination to run the very best store, the first store thrived.

Only two years later, he had opened two additional stores in neighboring communities, and climbed the fledgling firm's earnings to more than $1 million by the end of 1941.

Now, Albertsons functions as a banner of Albertsons Businesses, among the largest food and drug retailers in the United States.
