Vulnerability Management Analyst

Role Summary:
The cyber multi-year program is driving vulnerability remediation across GE. This role concentrates on middleware technologies and analysis of various data inputs to help drive vulnerability remediation.
The role requires understanding of the data structure, policies, and operations of various cyber security and IT operations teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
Source and integrate data from multiple sources i.e. APIs using python, excel, databases, web pages (crawl) etc. to create homogeneous datasets for analysis and reporting.
Compile, analyze, interpret, and present data related to asset inventory, software, applications and related threats, patch plans and effectiveness.
Capture, develop, and document data definitions, data rules, and data quality requirements
Create reports, charts, graphs and presentations to aid in highlighting issues and deficiencies in current processes.
Analyze external and internal data sources to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via the information available for analysis
Make recommendations for solutions or improvements that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience using SQL database
  • At least 2 years of experience working with data structures and normalization

Desired Characteristics:
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to extract data and write queries
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data from multiple sources
  • Expert technical knowledge of Excel formulae and some VBA
  • Previous work in similar field with generalized knowledge of software categories and deployment tiers i.e. app servers, web servers, database, middleware software, etc.
